What We Did
The School Law Section is a volunteer-led section of the State Bar of Texas that provides a forum for lawyers and law students dedicated to issues arising in schools from elementary to university. The School Law Section’s website had not been updated in years, so we were happy to usher it into the roaring 20’s with a sleek redesign.
The old School Law Section evoked an elementary feel, so we wanted to graduate it into a style equal to the State Bar. To do this, we featured elegant serif headers in varied weights, accompanied by scholastic imagery and simple geographic lines. We also created a placeholder image featuring an off-set State Bar logo for busy School Law Section volunteers to use until they can find the perfect image for their featured content.
The School Law Section website exists primarily for new and current members. To accommodate legal professionals from various backgrounds, we were sure to showcase how to apply for membership both online and off. This meant chunking content and using dual CTAs to provide a clear path for users with different needs and preferences. We also wanted to showcase the benefits of Section membership, including continuing education events and resources integrated with the State Bar and other platforms.
